Gumbo Limbo Nature Center
We found another great place to take kids in Boca Raton that was free unless you wanted to make a suggested donation of $5 per person. If you do, everyone gets a sticker and an awesome time!
We went to the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton and got to learn more about the plants and animals that live in the area. We saw lots of spiders, a live snake on the trail, butterflies, sea turtles, sharks, rays, giant snails, tree crabs and more!
We climbed the 40 ft Intercoastal Overlook and we were able to see the intercoastal waterway and the ocean! It was quite a hike up, but so worth it! We walked the entire 1/4 mile boardwalk trail and the girls were a little spooked by all the spiders, but they made it! We even spotted a black snake while on the trail!
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and the Boca Raton Sea Turtle Research and Conservation opened a rehabilitation program where they treat sick and injured turtles. The tanks had baby turtles in them!
The girls played in the sand box for a few before we headed inside to enjoy the cool air in the gift shop. The giant sea turtles made for a great photo opportunity!
